On Friday, June 22, 2007, a large contingency of Tri-County Cyclists along with cyclists from all over the United States (and even Canada) converged in Hopewell VA for the 20th anniversary of Bike Virginia.

In addition, our beloved "Monster" Phil traveled from Chicago with a faction from the Evanston Bike Club.

Bike Virginia is a five-day bike tour of incomparable Virginia scenery, history, culture and hospitality. Each June 2,000 cyclists of all ages experience the best biking adventure Virginia can offer.

This year, Bike Virginia partnered with Jamestown, VA in conjunction with their 400 anniversary celebration. In fact, we toured Jamestown on our cycling routes Monday and Tuesday.

Our VA tour started with a 2-day stay in Hopewell, VA. There we cycled through Hopewell, Petersburg and other historic areas.

On Sunday we packed our luggage and rode to our home for 3 nights, Williamsburg, VA. On our way, we cycled through Scotland Wharf, where we boarded the ferry to Virginia's "Historic Triangle" of Williamsburg-Jamestown-Yorktown.

The riding was almost flat, but the high temperatures made up for the lack of terrain. We did 2 centuries, including Tuesday's 100 mile juant led magnificently by Anthony.
